AFCO Winter Training Programme


Please see below some very important and exciting news regards our AFC Oakley Winter Training update and information.

Firstly, please let me introduce myself, my name is Matt Kent and I am the current Chairman of AFC Oakley since the last AGM.

I’ve been with Oakley since my group was U6 and we are now U12. Also I have been involved in the committee for 4 years now.

This letter is to inform and explain a change and improvement to our winter training programme.

Currently as I’m sure you’re aware all age group coaches have had to search for and book floodlit pitches off their own back. As a club we are very aware that the quality of available floodlit facilities in the Bedford area varies quite considerably.

Therefore we are delighted to announce that we have secured training spaces on Bedford Greenacres School’s new 4G surface situated in Clapham for all teams.

This will not only allow AFC Oakley players access to a brand new state of the art facility to train on it will remove the burden from coaches to find their own.

Of course a brand new facility comes at a price. We as a club are going to subsidise some of the cost for this season so the anticipated price to every player registered is approx. £60-£65. For some this will be an increase and others it maybe around the same.

As with previous years your coaches will be in touch soon to start to collect this money – then from next season (26/27) this will be included in the registration fee which can be paid in instalments.

We as a committee and a club feel that this is a great opportunity to move the club forward.
